Selling to your local cities and counties is a great way to get your feet wet and gain some past performance experience with government contracting.
Below are links to county purchasing websites and a few cities within our service area. Generally, each website posts their open opportunities and you can subscribe to receive announcements. You will need to subscribe individually to each local government’s bid service.
The city procurement sites within our service area are too numerous to list them all, but you can usually identify a city’s purchasing website by Googling [Name of City] purchasing or [Name of City] procurement. For example, search for “City of Sacramento procurement” and the second result is their list of open RFP’s.
In many counties and cities there are local business preferences (for example, LBE certifications), so look in your county and city first. Also, check to see if they accept the State of California small business certifications.
