A Turning Point
After years of working in corporate finance and business analytics, Robert Cooke knew something needed to change. The work was steady, but it kept him tied to a desk with little room for flexibility or family time. When he and his wife moved back to Sacramento to be closer to family, Robert began to rethink what he wanted his future to look like.
Building on Family Roots
Through his hands-on experience helping his family’s liquid waste management business, Robert saw firsthand how essential and dependable the work was. He understood the demand, the steady revenue, and the impact it had on the community. What began as lending a hand soon became something more. Inspired by what he learned, Robert launched RVC Pumping & Septic.
Bringing that vision to life required more than determination. He had to navigate permits, insurance, licensing, and secure specialized equipment. One of the biggest hurdles was sourcing the truck he needed, which pushed him to begin exploring financing options.
Finding the Right Support
That search led Robert to California Capital Financial Development Corporation. Through guidance and thoughtful conversations about his goals, he was able to explore the right financing option for his business. He ultimately secured a Flex Fund Loan, providing the capital he needed to purchase his truck and take a significant step toward launch.
Creating Opportunity from Day One
Robert is focused on building a strong base of recurring revenue while serving residential and commercial customers across the Sacramento region, with an emphasis on underserved areas. Even before officially launching, he began onboarding a full-time employee to ensure the business would create jobs from day one. As he looks ahead, Robert plans to fully transition out of the corporate world, expand services, and add a second truck within his first year. His story is a reminder that it is never too late to start a business, pursue your goals, and make a meaningful impact in your community.
