Getting Started with Government Contracting
Instructor Indria Gillespie has her doctorate in Education and Organizational Leadership. As an active member of the GoBiz CASCADE Team, she has thirteen plus years of grant management, contract administration, contract compliance experience, program development and project management experience, as well as presentation and facilitating discussions for adult-learners.
This workshop will inform small business owners how to position their business to obtain government contracts. How to assess if your small business is financially positioned for government contracting. Invoicing and government typical pay cycles. Identify and explain how to obtain government certifications. Registering your small business and how to identify potential contracting opportunities. The benefits of being a prime vs. subcontractor. An overview of the legal ramifications of hiring staff vs. using contractors. Attendees will be provided with a list of small business resources available to them.
