Ms. Palumbo is a business professional with more than 25 years’ experience, 17 as an Empowered Entrepreneur. She is a creative leader, with in depth knowledge and experience applying strategic business management, development of small business initiatives, and progressive leadership. Ms. Palumbo is an effective communicator with an innate ability to engage and hold the attention of those she trains and teaches. She owns several businesses and she successfully grew her core business into multiple states. She is a social entrepreneur and has been serving the homeless community for more than 16 years. Ms. Palumbo is a recent author and publisher. Her book Entrepreneurship Empowered; A New Millennium Business Guide from Startup To Succession, was released nationally February 2019. In May 2019 she released her Companion Workbook for Entrepreneurship Empowered. In August she released IMPACT! Social Entrepreneurship and The Lasting Legacy. All of her books are available nationwide. In addition to being an Empowered Entrepreneur, Ms. Palumbo is a Business Adjunct Professor with multiple colleges in the Sacramento and Greater Sacramento Region. She also serves as Secretary/Treasurer and is on the Board of USNRG, INC. a nonprofit that specializes in Energy and Healthy Home Inspections. She earned her Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts degrees from California State University, Sacramento.

USAspending as a “Market Research” Tool


In 2018, the government spent $4.11 trillion. On July 17, 2019 California Capital PTAC will offer a hands-on USAspending.gov workshop where the instructor will guide the participants through the functions and features of the USAspending.gov website and provide insight as to how to conduct market research on federal spending data that is specific to their business.

USAspending.gov is the official source for spending data for the U.S. Government. Its mission is to show the American public what the federal government spends every year and how it spends the money. You can follow the money from the Congressional appropriations to the federal agencies and down to local communities and businesses.

To participate in the hands-on section of this workshop, it is recommended that each participant brings their own internet connected device i.e.; laptop, tablet etc.

  • USAspending.gov provides a big-picture view of the federal spending landscape.
  • The Spending Explorer lets you explore the entire federal budget in increasing granularity, illustrating how awards derive from federal accounts.
  • USAspending.gov provides a targeted approach to finding federal award data.
  • Whether you’re a congressional staffer, agency employee, researcher, or data buff, the Award Search will help you answer your toughest questions about federal spending.
  • The Advanced Search option offers filters that let you customize your data sets. Interactive visualizations — including a spending map — complement downloadable files.

Presented by: Danielle Marshall: U.S. Air Force Veteran Danielle Marshall, MBA is a wife and Mother of 2. She has a long standing record of teaching and training in various professions. Danielle began her Military career as a Clinical lab Technologist at Travis Air Force Base and during her service, she worked with the Blood Donor UTC Team, was a Senior Core Lab Technician as well as a Clinical Laboratory Phase II Trainer & Nurse Transition Phlebotomy Instructor, among other positions. Currently a business consultant with over 14 years experience, Danielle specializes in assisting start-ups, and established companies in business development, organizational management, strategic planning, and leadership training. Danielle was the longest serving President of the Natomas Chamber of commerce. During her tenure, she assisted with opening, growing , and supporting over 287 new businesses. She worked directly with her City Council representative to attract, recruit, and retain businesses in the Natomas community. Danielle was also chosen to represent District 1 on the City of Sacramento on Economic Development Council as well as the 7 County Regional Business Leaders Coalition to further the discussion of the “Next Economy”.
